While in the process of forming the company, Jim Skane, Sr. chose the fulcrum as the company symbol because its function is analogous to the function Matchmaker carries out as transportation brokers.

Though the fulcrum is a simple machine in design and appearance, its genius lies in that it gives tremendous power to the user as it is the support by which a lever turns. It allows one the capability for action, and the fulcrum's interaction with the lever is the perfect reflection of Matchmaker's interactions with the client.
